Mariia Kovalenko is a multidisciplinary artist. She's composer, pianist, and performer. Her work spans music for games and visual media, live performance, and writing for ensembles from jazz groups to orchestras.
She is deeply drawn to sound itself - exploring sound design as a way to recreate environments and shape immersive sonic worlds.
Driven by curiosity, Mariia approaches her work through sound, creating with depth, emotion, and intention.

PIANO PERFORMANCE
This is where it all began.
Mariia started piano at the age of six, and since then has gone on to win multiple international competitions, perform across the world, and record music.

COMPOSITION
Composition became part of Mariia’s path almost as soon as she began learning her first piano pieces. From early on, she was drawn not just to playing music, but to understanding what the composer was trying to say.

SONGWRITING
As Mariia’s creativity expanded, she felt the need to go beyond instrumental music. She turned to poetry and storytelling, which gradually led her to songwriting - and to singing her own work.

SOUND DESIGN
For Mariia, sound is just as important as notes and words. As her work evolved, she began finding inspiration in the sounds around her - leading her into sound design.

Today, she creates custom synths and SFX for music, as well as for games and media.

PRODUCTION
Mariia began producing with her first song - using only GarageBand on her phone.
After getting her first computer, she released a fully self-produced album just two months later, created in her bedroom.
She continues to produce her own work and collaborates with other artists.

Beyond teaching music, she helps people discover their creativity and find their artistic voice, working with students of all ages - from young children to adults - with or without prior experience.
